ScreenHole — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
1. Summary
ScreenHole ("the app", "we", "us") does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers. We do not have servers.
The app runs entirely on your Mac. Your camera, microphone, and screen are captured and processed locally; recordings are written only to the location you choose at save time.
ScreenHole is published by Curiola Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia, and listed on boringapps.net.
2. Camera
ScreenHole accesses your camera to display your face in the on-screen overlay and, if you choose, include it in screen recordings. The camera feed — including any on-device background blur, auto-frame, or close-up processing — is handled entirely on your Mac. It is never transmitted off your device.
3. Microphone
ScreenHole accesses your microphone to capture audio for screen recordings and to drive the audio-reactive pulse on the overlay. Audio is processed entirely on your Mac. It is never transmitted off your device.
4. Screen recording
ScreenHole accesses your screen, application windows, or selected areas to record them. Recordings exist only in the location you choose when you save them. They are never transmitted off your Mac.
5. Files you create
Recordings written by ScreenHole live wherever you choose to save them. The app does not upload, copy, or share these files with any third party.
6. What ScreenHole sends over the network
Nothing. The app makes no network requests at runtime. There are no analytics requests, no crash report uploads, no licence checks, and no update pings.
7. What we do not do
• We do not collect personally identifiable information.
• We do not use analytics or telemetry SDKs of any kind.
• We do not use third-party crash reporters.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell, share, or process any data.
• We do not have user accounts or require sign-in.
• We do not run any backend service that the app talks to.
8. App Store privacy declarations
The "Privacy" section on ScreenHole's Mac App Store listing is set to "No data collected". The statements in this policy match those declarations. If you find a discrepancy, please email us — we want to know.
9. Children's privacy
ScreenHole does not knowingly collect any information from anyone — children included — because it does not collect information at all.
10. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how the app handles data, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change. Because ScreenHole doesn't collect or transmit data today, any change in that direction would be a substantive one and would be communicated in the app's release notes.
